I’d Walk a Mile for
My Inner Core!

Will You?

Our inner core is the space within us from where our authentic self emerges. We know that we are in our core when our thinking is clear, and we feel fully committed to healing ourselves. It is a place deep inside us where we feel centered, connected, and curious about who we are, where we came from, and why we are here!

Our inner core is our sanctuary where we reflect and see what motivates us. Most importantly, our inner core is where the “Holy Spirit” communes with us! When our inner core is strong, we rejuvenate! Why? Because it is easier for us to move, and movement keeps our energy flowing.

When our energy flows, it nourishes our cells, frees us from pain and disease patterns, and helps us expand to higher levels of consciousness. What are the benefits of having a strong core? A strong core can improve athletic performance, alleviate back pain, and promote better balance and stability. Our core is the link between the upper and lower body, and having a balance between them holds our chakra system in place.

When our chakra system is balanced, it creates balance within our electromagnetic field. The proper functioning of our electromagnetic field boosts our immune system, promoting good health and energy. Depending on the trainer you talk to, the definition and specific muscles that make up the inner core can vary. However, the most commonly recognized core muscles are often referred to as the “six-pack” muscles.

These muscles include the Transversus Abdominis (upper and lower divisions), Pelvic Floor, Diaphragm, Quadratus Lumborum, and Multifidus muscles. Walking is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to strengthen the muscles in our body. We often underestimate the number of muscles we use when we walk until we experience an injury. For those who are young and healthy, carrying a weight in each hand while walking can help build up these muscles even faster. However, there are several other ways to build up the inner core muscles as well. It’s important to note that not everyone is able to take a walk every day.

People with health conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, balance issues, arthritis, bone deformities, diabetes, and spinal cord issues may have difficulty walking. Nevertheless, walking every day and/or listening to deep healing music may help keep you healthy and reduce the need to visit the doctor.
