Self Care is Not Just Being There!

Updated: 7 hours ago

The best way to take care of yourself is to truly embrace your life. Your needs will be different than my needs. It is important not to mix our normal daily obligations with self-care. To me, self-care is all about satisfying the needs of your soul and your spirit. When you embrace the space in your heart and allow all the good to come in, you can start to resolve your care issues and release your inner demons to the world.

Life has a funny way of layering issues on you. Now is the time to allow your heart to heal and your soul to feel free. Your head will be much clearer with this new phase, and you will feel a renewal of spirit that helps you move on and succeed in being you. Start by working on one layer at a time. Peel it back and see the real issues and concerns. Let the peeling be a release for you and your soul, and let your heart release all the pain it has been holding onto. Decide, as you reveal the layers, if you can deal with this today, or if it’s a longer-term fix. Make decisions that work for you, but also allow yourself to be aware of the underlying issues that are there.

Your priorities are yours and yours alone. Know that this is yours to decide how and when to peel back the layers in your life that you have been pushing aside. You’ve made the decision to start, and it’s only your pace that matters. Allow yourself the time to accept the layers and to own them. The truth does set you free when you are ready to accept it and hear it. Self-care is all about that: being ready to hear the truth and being aware of the implications of the facts as they become available to you.

There is a big difference between living and existing, and there has never been a better time to let you be free. Free from what you think, how you think others may see you, and, above all, what your fears of all of it do to your independence and self-esteem. Always look forward. Looking back will not get you anywhere at all, it is the past. The present is what you are living in, and the future is not known to anyone at all. Live for now, be in the present, and know your worth, today.

Self-care takes the place of avoidance, and it happens when you are ready. When you can see the issues and, above all when you do not blame yourself for being human. Once the ball is rolling, there is no stopping your freedom and your ability to be you. You have the controls and never let anyone take them away from you—until you are ready to let go. Only then will you be able to truly have the self-care you need and deserve?

As you experience joy, freedom, and peace, know that the next steps are simple. Let go of the controls and trust that your life will take you where it is supposed to go. Know that the love you have and the truth you know are yours to share. Care enough about you and others to let it happen and be sure that it will. Truths come and go, but the real truth will stay with you. Let your heart and mind tell you when it is time to embrace the chaos of life and let it happen. Then, and only then, are you able to do the things that need to be done. Try hard to embrace your inner angel and let your big heart take care of her and you. Get on the plan and be the one who stands out above the rest. Do what you can to change the dial and see the new station as it pertains to your life. Do it.

The train is leaving the station, and you need to be on it. Run to catch it or decide to stay off. Those are your options. Making decisions, good or bad or ugly, is what self-care is all about. Know that you can change your life with a decision, and it can go either way. Trust in yourself and know that you make decisions based on fact or strategy. Or, you make a decision based on how you feel. It’s up to you. Be aware of the play and let it guide you. Own it, be it, do it. Now. Your true values will come out and be a part of the landscape. The sky is the limit when you believe in yourself and your intentions. Stop putting off the love you have to gain, the success that you can see, and, most of all, the knowledge that you make decisions in your own best interest. Get out there and do it. Make it happen.

It may hurt a bit to get out and put yourself out there, but for what you stand to gain, it is truly worthwhile. Know that you always had this in you, and you just waited for the right time to release it. Go ahead with your life and never look back to the place where you did not take the leap of faith that has allowed you to be free. Know this and always remember it. YOU have one life to live. DO it.

When you care for yourself, this is what you do.
